We have three similar API endpoints that seem to perform the same function—these are the Employee Search Endpoint, the Person Search Endpoint, and the Role Lookup Endpoint. However, in actuality, each one has unique nuances.

  • Employee Search Endpoint - Powered by LinkDB, this endpoint returns a list of employees from any single target company based on a specific job title.
  • Person Search Endpoint - Also powered by LinkDB, this endpoint returns a list of people from any company based on any of the 46 filters provided.
  • Role Lookup Endpoint - This endpoint performs a live LinkedIn search and returns the closest match based on a fuzzy string search between a job title and a company.

With that said, if you need fresh data and the closest match, then the Role Lookup Endpoint is for you.

If you need to search for relevant people across various companies, then the Person Search Endpoint is the ideal choice.

And if you need to search for employees of a certain role within a specific company, then the Employee Search Endpoint is exactly what you're looking for.
